Ryan Murphy made the announcement on Instagram on Monday, Oct. 17, 2022. He posted a black-and-white photo of Hunnam, 42, in character as Gein holding a skull.

“Yes it’s true,” Murphy wrote in the caption. “The third installment of Monster will be the story of Ed Gein.”
