Falcons Offense Night and Day From Week 1

A Complete Turnaround

The Atlanta Falcons offense looked like a completely different unit in Week 2 than they did in Week 1. After mustering just 12 points and 212 total yards in their season opener against the New Orleans Saints, the Falcons exploded for 31 points and 435 total yards in their Week 2 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The difference in offensive production was evident from the start of the game. The Falcons marched down the field on their opening drive for a touchdown, and they never looked back. Quarterback Matt Ryan was efficient and effective, completing 21 of 30 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Devonta Freeman also had a big game, rushing for 84 yards and a touchdown.

What Changed?

There were a number of factors that contributed to the Falcons' offensive turnaround in Week 2. First, the offensive line played much better than they did in Week 1. They gave Ryan plenty of time to throw and opened up running lanes for Freeman.

Second, the Falcons' receivers made more plays. Julio Jones had a huge game, catching eight passes for 128 yards and a touchdown. Mohamed Sanu also made some big catches, and he finished the game with five receptions for 71 yards.

Finally, the Falcons' coaching staff made some adjustments to the offense. They used more play-action passes, and they also got the ball to Freeman more in the passing game.

Looking Ahead

The Falcons' offensive turnaround in Week 2 is a good sign for the rest of the season. If they can continue to play at this level, they will be a tough team to beat. The Falcons will face a tough test in Week 3 when they travel to face the Carolina Panthers, but they will be confident that they can win.
