Bad Luck Strikes Steelers Special Teams in Win Over Falcons

A Pyrrhic Victory

The Pittsburgh Steelers' victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday was a much-needed one, but it came at a steep cost. The Steelers' special teams unit, which has been a source of strength for the team in recent years, had a night to forget in Atlanta.

Missed Field Goal and Blocked Punt

The Steelers' struggles began early in the game when kicker Chris Boswell missed a 48-yard field goal wide left. Later in the first half, the Falcons blocked a Steelers punt, giving Atlanta excellent field position and setting up a touchdown that gave the Falcons a 14-3 lead.

Injury to Return Specialist

In the second half, the Steelers' special teams unit suffered another blow when return specialist Ray-Ray McCloud was injured on a punt return. McCloud is one of the Steelers' most explosive players, and his absence will be a significant loss for the team.

Despite the setbacks, the Steelers were able to rally for a 20-18 victory. However, the special teams miscues are a cause for concern, and the Steelers will need to address these issues before their next game.
